The Canadian Sponsorship Landscape Study (CSLS) is the longest-running insights and trends barometer on the sponsorship industry in Canada, and the only one of its kind.

CSLS started in 2005 following feedback from delegates at the inaugural Canadian Sponsorship Forum in Vancouver, British Columbia, which highlighted a need for Canadian-specific and national-level data for strategic planning in the sponsorship industry.​

Since then, the CSLS has provided in-depth insights on the scope, scale and trends of Canada’s sponsorship industry, including: industry size, spending by sector, activation trends, evaluation practices, strategic priorities and future outlook.​

The study draws on both academic and industry resources to provide information that is relevant, highly ethical and provides expertise for sponsors, properties and agencies. ​

2024 marks the 18th edition of the Canadian Sponsorship Landscape Study.

CSLS is jointly presented by TI, SMCC, IMI and SponsorshipX, and is widely used to describe the state of sponsorship in Canada each year. This year’s study is based on the 2023 year of data.
